Sound Design Projects
Edits
Story Telling
This assignment was focused around story telling with only sound. Students were challenged to record their own voices as well as sound effects in order to create a story without visuals. To edit my sounds together, I used ProTools as my DAW. I decided to go for the mysterious theme since it fit the season. Take a listen.
Sound Design
For this project, students were to find a clip of their choosing, strip the original audio, and recreate it with their own effects. This assignment was one of my favorites since we were able to be very creative in finding ways to create our own sounds and twists. "Knick Knacks" is one of my favorite Pixar shorts ever created and had a blast creating my own sound design for it for a project.
The Mysterious Warehouse
The Warehouse Game is a game project designed in Unity to help students understand the development of sound design in games. Each student was assigned to create their own version of the game, creating and editing their own sound designs to fit the genre of game they wanted. Also learning how to time and edit effect within the proogram. I have voiced as the main character and designed the story of my version of the game. The main DAW I used was ProTools to edit the effects.

An Artist's View
A short interview I did of my friend who is an art major at San Jose State University. This was one of our final projects that was focused on matching action and color correction.
Still Photo Project
Here is a 10 second show case on still photos showing continuity. Few shots may seem as a still hand video, yet it is a still shot. Edited through Premiere Pro.
News Segment
This short news segment written and performed by me. Using my skills of photoshop and premier pro, I was able to create my own graphic designs for story. Filming took place in a studio class, but was fully edited by me. Take a look.
Showcase Sample
Here is a small project that I worked on to showcase an item to an audience. I recently bought a mini projector and decided that it would be perfect for the project. This was filmed in a studio class, though it was scripted and edited by me.

Collaborative Projects
BECAfest 2020
BECAfest is a yearly showcase produced by the students of the BECA department of SFSU. For this show I was apart of the audio team where we had to edit the audio of the reel as well as create sound design for the effects. Not only was I apart of the crew, I was also nominated in the Experimental Audio awards as well as the Best Commercial for Radio along side my cohosts for The B.O.B.A Show. This particular show was a challenge to film since it was the first time filming a virtual award show, yet the show came out better than we thought.
Local Access - Season 8
Local Access is a SFSU student produced series. Over the course of the semester, we worked together to create eight 30 minute episodes to be aired on local television as well as on SFSU's Youtube platform. Being apart of the audio crew has given me a taste of how putting a production together with a team. I was able to work in pre, live, and post production recording effects, EQing, and post production editing.
Kira Snyder Interview
San Francisco State University's broadcasting students were given the opportunity to have a Q&A session with one of the writers from 'The Handmaid's Tale' and I was given the opportunity to work with the audio team on the floor and the control room. Although we ran into a few difficulties, we were able to overcome and recover our sound quality.
After Effects / Graphics
These are just a few samples of work I did using Adobe Cloud Suite's After Effects program. Graphics were provided from previous classes that allowed us to use in our projects. I gained some experience working with 3D styling as well.
Radio Air Checks
The B.O.B.A Show
The B.O.B.A Show is a podcast created by my colleagues, Daric Carvajal and Steven Tu, and I for a class at San Francisco State University. It aired on KSFS Radio, a station ran by the broadcasting students of the university. Our show focused around Asian American culture covering everything from food to your latest news. As a host I helped research content for the show as well as blog posts and run our social media accounts. Here are a couple of episodes, check out more on our site with the link above!
89.3 KOHL host
KOHL is a locally ran station by the students and staff of Ohlone College in Fremont, California. As a show host and content creator, I focused a lot on local events, news, and more around the Bay Area. Also covering celebrity news, weather, giveaways, and more! For remote events I helped with promotions and interviews as well.
